Supreme Court Allows Trial Over Census Citizenship Question to Proceed
NEW YORK — The Supreme Court has denied the Trump administration’s request to delay a federal trial in the challenge over placing a citizenship question on the 2020 census. The American Civil Liberties Union and other groups brought the lawsuit on behalf of immigrants’ rights groups.
Dale Ho, director of the ACLU’s Voting Rights Project, had this reaction to today’s Supreme Court action:
“We are pleased the Supreme Court rejected this Hail Mary attempt to stop the trial from moving forward. We’ll see the Trump administration in court on Monday.”
