Statement Regarding Rights of Protesters at Trump Rally
BATON ROUGE, La. — North Baton Rouge Matters, the Louisiana Chapter of the National Lawyers Guild, the ACLU of Louisiana, and the New Orleans Workers Center for Racial Justice, and allies are pleased that the lawsuit concerning the rights of protesters in Baton Rouge has been resolved with an understanding that peaceful protesters will have their rights respected by law enforcement in Baton Rouge. We hope that this new agreement will protect the demonstrators, protesters, and anyone who might turn out in response to today’s appearance in Baton Rouge by President-Elect Donald Trump.
