INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Mike Pence of Indiana signed a law today that singles out the Planned Parenthood Lafayette Health Center, mandating medically unnecessary structural changes. The law would force the center, which provides family planning services and abortions by medication, to alter its physical structure as though it provided surgical procedures.

“Political attacks on health clinics rob women of a safe place to end a pregnancy,” said Talcott Camp, deputy director of the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project. “This is yet another example of extremist politicians attempting to eliminate access to abortion care, state by state, clinic by clinic. Elected officials must stop interfering in our private medical decisions.”
