ACLU of Nevada Available for Interviews Following Friday Morning Court Hearing in Challenge to “Prevent Sanctuary Cities” Initiative Petition
Attorneys with the ACLU of Nevada and one of our clients in Haley et. al. v. Prevent Sanctuary Cities PAC, former Washoe County Sheriff Mike Haley, will be available for interviews at our Reno office following Friday’s 9:00 am court hearing in Carson City.
The ACLU of Nevada challenged the validity of the initiative petition effort led by State Sen. Michael Roberson, because the petition is misleading to voters. ACLU of Nevada Legal Director, Amy Rose, will argue the petition violates the statutory requirements for Nevada initiative petitions and fails to identify any of its effects, including the numerous ways in which the anti-immigrant policy will harm Nevada families and endanger public safety
