The American Civil Liberties Union will hold a press call with Daniel Jones, former chief investigator for the Senate Intelligence Committee and lead author of the “Committee Study of the CIA’s Detention and Interrogation Program,” aka the Torture Report — 6,700 pages on the use of torture by the CIA.
President Trump nominated Gina Haspel for director of the CIA in March following the nomination of Mike Pompeo for Secretary of State. The ACLU and other civil rights organizations have raised serious concerns about Haspel’s record, which includes overseeing torture operations and working to destroy evidence of torture crimes.
Only on-topic questions will be addressed in the media call.
