ACLU of Georgia Warns Lt. Governor, Legislature Against Imposing Ideological Litmus Tests

ATLANTA – This afternoon, the Lt. Governor tweeted, “I will kill any tax legislation that benefits @Delta unless the company changes its position and fully reinstates its relationship with @NRA. Corporations cannot attack conservatives and expect us not to fight back.” Additionally, the State Senate, over which the Lt. Governor presides, blocked a tax break bill that would have benefited Delta.

“Politicians should not use taxpayer dollars to impose ideological litmus tests and punish organizations that express views that politicians dislike. Amazon should take note,” stated Andrea Young, Executive Director of the ACLU of Georgia.
