ACLU of Alabama Urges Senator-Elect Jones to Protect Civil Liberties
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Following the results of the special election for the U.S. Senate in Alabama, Randall Marshall, executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of Alabama, issued the following statement:
“We have high hopes that Senator-elect Doug Jones will use his office to join us in protecting civil liberties for all people living in Alabama, regardless of race, religion, immigration status, sexual orientation, gender, or political affiliation. This election may be over, but our fight for justice and equality is not. This election confirms the power of voters to make a difference by being involved. We encourage everyone to stay involved.”
