Join us in New York City tonight for a special screening of The Oath, a gripping documentary by Oscar-nominated filmmaker, Laura Poitras that tells the story of Salim Hamdan, the first Guantánamo prisoner to face the controversial military commissions held at the prison camp, and a man known as “Abu Jandal,” Osama Bin Laden’s former bodyguard, and the brother-in-law of Hamdan. Poitras’ haunting film provokes thought and reflection about America’s actions and the process afforded to prisoners in the so-called “war on terror.”

Tonight’s screening will be followed by a special discussion after the film that will feature David Menschel, Executive Producer of the film; Jameel Jaffer, Deputy Legal Director of the ACLU; and Art Eisenberg, Legal Director at the New York Civil Liberties Union.
