What’s the #1 rule for crashing a wedding?

According to the Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson film Wedding Crashers it’s “Never leave your fellow Crashers behind!”

A decade later that movie still resonates (even for us stodgy old civil libertarians). Now is the time to grab all of your friends and crash the hottest wedding event of the year in the support of the freedom to marry!

Earlier this month the ACLU was thrilled to announce the five winning couples of “My Big Gay (Il)legal Wedding.”

And now you have a chance to win as well.

Allies and supporters of the freedom to marry can enter the “Wedding Crashers Sweepstakes” for the chance to win a VIP trip for two to “crash” the “My Big Gay (Il)legal Wedding” reception in New York City on May 19, hosted by Orange is the New Black star, Lea DeLaria.

You can enter the sweepstakes by signing the winning couples’ wedding guestbook at http://weddings.aclu.org, which will then be delivered to lawmakers in the couples’ home states as a petition calling for the freedom to marry in those states.

So come out for freedom and enter the sweepstakes to show your support for loving, committed same-sex couples who wish to be married. If you win, we can promise you a good time that even Owen and Vince would be jealous of.

The “My Big Gay (Il)legal Wedding Reception Sweepstakes” is sponsored by the ACLU. No purchase necessary to enter or win. Open to legal residents of the 50 United States, D.C. & Puerto Rico who are of legal age of majority in their state of residence. Starts 12:01 a.m. ET 3/28/14, ends 11:59 p.m. 5/07/14. Void where prohibited. Subject to Official Rules, available at http://weddings.aclu.org.
