Bio

Lovely Olivier was a paralegal at the ACLU’s Criminal Law Reform Project. Before joining CLRP, she worked in the Alternatives to Incarceration Unit at the New York County District Attorney’s Office, where she managed the Drug Court diversion program. Outside of her work in CLRP, Lovely served on the Steering Committee and is a 2020 inaugural fellow of the Justice Initiative, a joint project of The Systemic Justice Project at Harvard Law School and the Thurgood Marshall Civil Rights Center at Howard University School of Law devoted to critically engaging with disparate systems and institutions, with particular focus on law, the legal profession, and legal education. Lovely graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Justice & Peace Studies, with concentrations in Race & Ethnic Relations and Gender & Sexuality Studies.
