Abusive Employer Settles Sexual Harrassment Case

On August 31, the ACLU won an important victory on behalf of three immigrant women who were sexually harrassed by their employer. In September 2006, a jury found Alberto Palacci guilty of harrassing the three Latina women. But Palacci refused to pay the jury-awarded compensation. After nearly a year of negotiations, the ACLU’s Women’s Rights Project won $750,000 in damages and attorneys fees for their clients, Deyanira Espinal, Angela Berise Fritman Peralta and Maria Araceli Gonzales Flores.
